Explore central Zurich and ride the historic UBS Polybahn, which has transported passengers between Central and the university district since 1889. Mount Titlis offers a high-altitude experience at more than 3,000 metres above sea level. Visitors travel from Engelberg using the Titlis Xpress before continuing to the summit by mountain cable car. Available summit attractions may include the Titlis Glacier Cave, Titlis Cliff Walk, panoramic viewing areas, the Ice Flyer chairlift and seasonal snow activities. Individual attractions may close because of wind, snow, maintenance or safety conditions. When Stanserhorn is officially operating, visitors travel to Stans and begin the ascent aboard a historic funicular railway. The journey continues with the CabriO, a distinctive double-deck cable car featuring an open-air upper deck. The full journey from Stans to the mountain takes approximately 25 minutes and provides panoramic views across Central Switzerland. When Stanserhorn is not operating, the journey continues at Mount Brunni, located on the sunny side of Engelberg. The main family attraction is the seasonal summer toboggan at Ristis. Visitors can enjoy an exciting ride along the mountain track while surrounded by Alpine scenery. The toboggan operates only during its scheduled summer season and when the track is dry. Travel aboard the Stoosbahn, recognised as the steepest funicular railway in the world. Its specially designed rotating cabins remain level while travelling along gradients of up to 110 per cent. Visit the official Victorinox Factory Store at the company’s headquarters in Ibach. Victorinox was established in 1884 and is internationally known as the maker of the original Swiss Army Knife. The store offers pocket knives, kitchen knives, watches and selected travel products. This itinerary includes a shopping visit to the factory store and does not automatically include entry into the production facility. Continue to Arth-Goldau and board the cogwheel railway to Rigi Kulm. Mount Rigi is known as the “Queen of the Mountains” and played an important role in the development of Swiss mountain tourism. The original Vitznau–Rigi railway opened in 1871 as Europe’s first mountain railway. From Rigi Kulm, visitors can enjoy views over Lake Lucerne, Lake Zug and the surrounding Alpine landscape. Mount Pilatus is one of the most famous mountains overlooking Lucerne. Visitors may travel from Kriens using panoramic gondolas and an aerial cableway to reach Pilatus Kulm. During the operating season of the Alpnachstad route, Mount Pilatus can also be reached by the world’s steepest cogwheel railway. Opened in 1889, the railway climbs gradients of up to 48 per cent. Venice is a historic city built across a lagoon and connected by canals, bridges and narrow pedestrian streets. It is famous for its romantic waterways, old palaces, beautiful squares and rich maritime history. As coaches cannot enter the historic centre, the group will continue from the coach parking area using the suitable transfer arrangement, such as the People Mover, public boat or walking route, depending on the final parking point and local conditions. The walking tour may include St Mark’s Square, the exterior of St Mark’s Basilica, the exterior of Doge’s Palace, the Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge and views of the Grand Canal. St Mark’s Square is the main public square of Venice and one of the city’s most recognised landmarks. Rialto Bridge is one of Venice’s most famous bridges, crossing the Grand Canal and offering classic views of the city’s historic waterways. A gondola ride is not included in the package and may be arranged as an optional activity at the traveller’s own expense, subject to availability and local pricing.
